Pre-Season is Back

A huge turnout for the first official pre-season of 2026 for the Eastern Warriors.

A turnout of over 50 mens and womens players to the first official Eastern Warriors pre-season training of 2026 bodes well for the season ahead. There were a number of new faces and returning regulars on a prefect night for training, with coaches Willo, Magoo and Sue putting all teams through their paces. It’s exciting to see the energy and enthusiasm across the club as we get stuck into the new year.

Track Watch
There are some significantly fitter players on the track this year, setting some serious standards and looking the goods. Our brand new faces brought plenty of energy to the sessions, with Daniel, Darren, Tory, Sam, Peter and Ben all having an impact. There are plenty of other new guys in the mix showing regular improvement in skills and fitness, like Jason, Michael, and Brendan who continue to turn up and crack in.

At the end of the session, Magoo brought the 55s together to announce that Warren Barker (Killer) will be taking over from Sam Magro as captain of the 55s in 2026, with the vice-captain yet to be named.

The womens team continue to refine their skills ahead of what will be the biggest non-contact season yet with four teams in the competition this year.

Upcoming
Re: Australia Day, Monday night 9s is on as long as there are a minimum of 10 so RSVP via TeamApp. There were 25 this week so even with the public holiday it is likely to be on at 6.30pm at Edinburgh Reserve.
