And we’re off! The hunger for getting back to training was evident on Wednesday night as 25 Warriors took to the field for match sim practice in perfect summer conditions – a great turnout ahead of the official return to pre-season training next week.
Before the game, Coach Magoo and President Gez delivered a timely and important reminder of the need for respect and care on and off the field – there is no room for bad behaviour and arguing. Players come for a variety of reasons, and being competitive is welcome, but being a dickhead is most definitely not. See below for the Eastern Warriors Philosophy.

Track Watch
The game on Wednesday was played in great spirit, with an even scoreline representing a soccer match. It was excellent to see new players emerging, particularly new talls Brendan (our Bunnings recruit!) and Jason who joined training at the start of pre-season. Frankie and Adam brought experience, skill and dash to the table, while it was great to see Clint, Killer, Andy, Col, Eddie and others in tip-top shape at the start of Jan.
Big improvement from Herry, Munga and Seal covering plenty of ground and winning the footy – all bodes well for the season ahead. Thanks to Bella (Damo’s granddaughter and a handy player) for taking a few snaps and deciding not to embarrass us by towelling us up.
Stay tuned for more announcements soon re: coaching, practice matches and more. All Mens and Womens teams will be on the track next Wednesday, while the Intraclub Monday 9s starts again this Monday 19th Jan. Also, the Mens 55s have a practice match scheduled for 28 Feb against Carrum – look out for an event to RSVP to coming soon.
Welcome back Warriors – let’s go!!!!
