On a perfectly still, warm evening, Edinburgh Reserve (aka Jurassic Park) was humming once again with high numbers at training.
Nothing to do with the free barbie on offer to celebrate 4.2.26, this was a squad of dedicated athletes hungry only for success – and maybe a few free sausages.
The warm, still conditions made the skills work look better than usual, with some big improvement praised by coaches Willo and Magoo.
It was great to see Kris back for the 35s, looking sharp and new player Daniel continues to impress with his exceptional delivery by hand and foot.
Over in the womens corner, newcomer Helen and sometimer Kylie got to work sharpening their skills with the established Warriors.
Meanwhile, in the canteen, Flea said it was murder in the kitchen, with two blokes needed to wrestle open a can of beetroot. But the Warriors never fail, and you can’t beet a root. Thanks to all who helped cook, serve and clean, especially Flea, Bomber, Phil G and Dusty.

This is what victory looks like!
The physical skills might be up but mentally there is work to do – the introduction of a man on the mark decision bamboozled everyone, and a kickout drill at the end of training also created plenty of confusion. The countdown is on and every session matters, so we’ll see you on the track next Wednesday.
Stay tuned for more announcements and men, don’t forget some key dates:
20-22 Feb – Warriors Walhalla Weekend
28 Feb – Over 55s Pre-Season Match
Registrations for 2026 will be required soon, new coaching announcements coming and there is also a Family Day/Season Launch in the works.
It’s all happening at Warriorland!
